1971 CL 350

I have had my CL for one year now. I must say it has been a gas! I picked it up off of craig list. The ad said it ran and that he had the title. Well guess what, it did not run and he did not have the title. To make a long story short I bought the bike for $275. I thought what the heck if I could not get the title it would be a good parts bike. It had been 20 years sense the bike was titled.

After doing some PI work I found the guy. He was super cool and went to the DMV with me to get the title. We have stayed in touch and he has followed the build.
Now the fun part. Me and my friend spent the next couple of months tearing it down, carbs, eltrical, gas tank etc. My friend was sure it would never run. When we first brought it home and drained the oil it was mostly gas. He said this was a bad sign. Once it was put together it started on the 3rd kick. It scared the hell out of him. I must admit that pretty was funny.
The bike now runs great. I am on to phase two. new seat pan, rear controls, shorten handle bars and a few other tid bits. I have changed the tires out to a more user friendly tread. I have had many many bikes over the years and I currently have a couple HD but this little Honda has just been a kick. I look forward to riding it for many years to come.

Mark, you get the trophy for best pix ever! Thanks for sharing. Wow!
